12-Year-Old Changing Energy


William Yuan is a 12-year-old boy from Beaverton, Oregon who is on the way to solving our energy crisis. The epiphany to create a 3D solar cell came to him one day while playing with Legos.

Yuan's new solar cells are capable of absorbing both UV light and visible light in order to harness more energy. The 3D cells, compared to the current 2D cells, will be able to catch 500 times more sunlight.
